The Undine race is a diverse collective of aquatic beings, bound together by their affinity for the element of water. Originating from the mystical depths of the ocean, Undines embody the essence of marine life and the mysteries of the sea. Their existence predates human civilization, with ancient tales weaving their presence into the fabric of myth and legend.

Undines trace their lineage back to the primordial waters, where they emerged as guardians of the ocean's vast expanse. Unlike traditional depictions, Undines encompass a wide array of aquatic creatures, including fish, orcas, dolphins, sharks, and even sentient beings like merfolk and sea serpents. Their diverse forms reflect the rich biodiversity of the underwater world, where every species plays a vital role in maintaining the delicate balance of the ecosystem.

The magic of the Undine race is deeply intertwined with their connection to the sea. Through ancient rituals and mystical rites, Undines harness the elemental forces of water to wield powerful abilities. They can manipulate currents, control marine life, and even summon storms to defend their underwater domains. Each Undine's magical prowess is unique, reflecting their individual affinity for specific aspects of the oceanic realm.

Undines form tightly-knit communities within the depths of the ocean, where they live in harmony with the marine life that surrounds them. Their society is governed by a council of elders, who uphold ancient traditions and mediate disputes among their kind. Despite their affinity for the sea, Undines maintain a cautious distance from land-dwellers, wary of the impact humans may have on their aquatic habitats.

While Undines primarily dwell beneath the waves, they occasionally interact with surface-dwellers, forging alliances or engaging in conflicts as circumstances dictate. Some Undines, like merfolk, establish diplomatic relations with coastal civilizations, exchanging knowledge and resources to mutual benefit. However, others, such as sea serpents, are more reclusive, preferring to avoid contact with outsiders altogether.

Echoing the ancient folklore of Paracelsus, Undines are often associated with tales of tragic romance and forbidden love. According to legend, those who betray the trust of an Undine face dire consequences, ranging from personal misfortune to the wrath of the entire underwater realm. While some dismiss these stories as mere superstition, others believe them to be a warning of the dangers of underestimating the power of the sea.
