At 1st level, If your exotic pet is a bird, you and your pet gain expertise in Awareness, and Concentration skill checks.
Your exotic pet will disengage after every attack provided it has movement speed available. In addition, you and your exotic pet can see in both magical and non magical darkness up to 60 feet as if it were bright light.
At 3rd level, When an ally within 5 feet of you is attacked, you can enter a protective stance as a reaction. Your exotic pet will distract the attacker imposing disadvantage on their attack roll.
